MUSIC CAM Navigator PCI: A New Way to Think About CAM

Developing new applications for CAM (Content Addressable Memory) just became easier. MUSIC Semiconductors, pioneers in CAM technology since 1989, now brings an ergonomic design tool to the desktop. The CAM Navigator PCI eliminates the learning curve for engineers to utilize CAM, streamlines feasibility studies and simplifies testing of custom algorithms. Network performance has long benefited from CAM technology; CAM Navigator PCI now opens the door to other target markets.

Evolving outside of the traditional networking arena applications as data compression, medical diagnostic equipment and the many computer graphic applications are such emerging markets where CAM can not only be essential but also cost effective.






CAM Navigator is a half-size PCI card compatible 3.3V and 5V systems with a frequency of 33MHz. A resident MUSIC Routing Co-Processor permits evaluation of the powerful MU9CxK64 binary and ternary product family as well as other MUSIC devices. An on-board GUI, the MUSIC CAM Navigator Studio facilitates creating application specific test benches. Schematics in hardware and software mode let users modify pin connections to improve algorithm speed. Other tools include model simulation and VHDL procedure file export; custom codes can also be developed. The robust Jungo WinDriver platform supports Windows, Linux, Solaris, and VxWorks.
